This is Knit’s Yarn Tasting Event last Thursday 27 August was enjoyed by all…A great evening of sampling a variety of yarns along with a glass of wine or two.

When I first arrived in Dublin three years ago, I was surprised at the lack yarn shops and the quality of yarns available to the avid knitter.
Today, we can find yarnly goodliness in This is Knit, Stitch, The Yarn Room. Etsy has become widely popular as we fiber fanatics shop online for Irish-based indie dyers and spinners. We have even spotted vintage yarns in Dublin’s charity shops.
Our favourite yarn shops are bringing in new and wonderful things for us to buy and try. It only gets better…there is a new online shop in town, The Constant Knitter.
Rosemary, an enthusiastic knitter is the proprietor of this new online store. Take note, knitters/crocheters; she has yarns by Garnstudio~Drops Designs….self-patterning sock yarn, alpaca, Egyptian cotton, wool; need we say more.
Last Tuesday, the Rathmines knitting group organised a yarn swap and brought in their unwanted yarnstash…
Some of the yarns had a history, such as resurfacing after a year or two from a previous swap; or recycled yarn from a cardigan bought at a charity shop.
I am not sure whether I was destashing, but It certainly looks like a stash enhancement…
