In KNIT IN THE CITY, SnB, cafes, food and drink on 4 April 2009 at 19:26It was a great turn out this afternoon at the Curved Street Cafe for the bi-monthly SnB in the City Centre.
Fifteen knitters took over two tables and a sofa…good food and drink and lots of knitting and yarn selling and swapping amongst the group.

In the past few months, I have not been able to get to any of my regular knitting groups in the City Center or in Rathmines. I miss the atmosphere of knitting in a cafe. So I find myself taking my own little knitting break in Dublin’s City Center. I have become the lone knitter, sitting in a cafe with a cuppa and my knitting…
How about The Cake Cafe, located in the Daintree Building in the heart of Camden Street This is a lovely place to enjoy a scrumptous slice of cake and a cup of coffee.
This place is very quaint, not very quiet for a Wednesday at three o’clock in the afternoon. There were a few tables of friends meeting for a late lunch. I had a table by the window, and as the buzz of conversations echoed around me, I enjoyed a yummy cupcake and a cup of coffee.

the delights of knitting for pleasure
In SnB, food and drink on 16 September 2007 at 11:42The Curved Street Café is drawing very good reviews amongst the Dublin knitters. I have heard comments such as “great lighting”, “central location”, “nice staff” and importantly, “very good food & drink”. The menu is very impressive with a varied selection of gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads. Yesterday’s menu included two types of pizza- blue cheese & carmelized onions and tomato & basil. Both came with a lovely spring salad and cashew nut vingarette dressing.
